There has been quite a hype about Google’s Android, said to be possible future leader of mobile operating systems, but let us set that aside for a while and see what other operating system Google have up their sleeves. An official VMware release of Google’s latest Chrome OS is already accessible, and people are excited to try this light OS and see what surprises Google has prepared inside it.

When I first tied Chrome OS, I noticed how swift and lightweight the OS is. It is generally a web-based operating system with most of its components function as web widgets. It is almost as if you are using a browser with an OS inside it than the other way around, but it can be pretty handy for people spending ALL — not some, not most, but ALL — of their time using browsers. Even Google officials have stated that this operating system is designed to be a lightweight, web-based, OS and it is not for everyone.

If you are disappointed with the fact that Chrome OS is not a full-featured operating system, wait till you hear what comes next. Google’s Chrome OS is superbly light and easy to use. With that in mind, you will be more than happy to know that there are countless applications, especially Google-related such as Gmail, Calendar, Chrome browser, Google Docs, and various other web apps including social networking apps and IMs that are available for Chrome OS. You can use them in a web-browser like tabbed interface, guaranteeing you easy access to every feature you need.
