Asus Eee PC 1201N

Asus Eee PC 1201N

There is no doubt that Asus is a pioneer when it comes to netbooks. Asus’s Eee Pc line is what changed the industry in the first place, causing other manufacturers to follow. The vast amount of netbooks available on the market these days may as well be triggered by Asus’s first Eee PC 701 netbook.

If you are currently thinking about buying a netbook, and you think you can hold on and wait for a couple of weeks, you should seriously consider Asus Eee PC 1201N. This amazing piece of hardware will surely mark the future of netbooks with lots of cool features built in to it. Asus Eee PC 1201N uses the latest Intel Atom 330 Dual-Core processor running at 1.6GHz, with 2GB or 3GB of DDR2 memory and 250GB or 320GB hard drive. If that’s not good enough for you, wait till you notice that the Eee PC 1201N is also powered by Nvidia ION platform for better computing and graphics. You will also love Eee PC 1201N’s 12.1-inch, 1366 x 768 LED-backlit display, larger than the average 10.2-inch screen most available netbooks have.

With the features being so renewed and fabulous, the price would be quite high, right? Not really, because Asus Eee PC 1201N will be priced starting at $499; it will be completely worth its price, especially when Asus put a six-cell battery and Windows 7 Premium as part of the package.

I’m sure by now you agree that Asus Eee PC 1201N is the kind of product that will be worth waiting. That much features added with great portability and battery life, with the price of an ordinary netbook? It is a keeper, hands down.

The Return of the (Jedi Named) Polaroid

We all remember how fun it was to use instant camera produced by Polaroid on almost every occasions. There’s a certain thrill in waiting for the picture to finish its process and see how well the moment has been captured on the spot. At the age of celluloid cameras, Polaroid instant cameras are highly wanted; some people even think the concept of Polaroid cameras is what actually ignited ideas to develop digital cameras in the first place, although this assumption is probably a bit far-fetched.

Well, Polaroid will be back to compete for its former throne as leading instant camera manufacturer for sure because they have released a digital version of Polaroid instant camera. Meet the latest release of Polaroid PoGo instant digital camera. It looks more like ordinary digital camera, but what you are about to discover is nothing ordinary at all.

Under its hood, Polaroid PoGo uses a 5 Megapixels imaging sensor to capture high quality images. The resolution is still a bit behind its more mature competitors, but the quality of images taken by Polaroid PoGo are sharp and clear, far beyond what you may expected. Other features such as a 3-inch LCD screen and optical zoom are present, but once you notice the hole on the side panel you know Polaroid had built some fantastic features to its PoGo

With the help of accessible buttons, you will be able to edit your pictures directly on the camera. Once you are done — stand by for this — press the print button and print your picture instantly. Yes, the hole we are talking about earlier is for the printer’s output.

The Chromium Is Coming

There has been quite a hype about Google’s Android, said to be possible future leader of mobile operating systems, but let us set that aside for a while and see what other operating system Google have up their sleeves. An official VMware release of Google’s latest Chrome OS is already accessible, and people are excited to try this light OS and see what surprises Google has prepared inside it.

When I first tied Chrome OS, I noticed how swift and lightweight the OS is. It is generally a web-based operating system with most of its components function as web widgets. It is almost as if you are using a browser with an OS inside it than the other way around, but it can be pretty handy for people spending ALL — not some, not most, but ALL — of their time using browsers. Even Google officials have stated that this operating system is designed to be a lightweight, web-based, OS and it is not for everyone.

If you are disappointed with the fact that Chrome OS is not a full-featured operating system, wait till you hear what comes next. Google’s Chrome OS is superbly light and easy to use. With that in mind, you will be more than happy to know that there are countless applications, especially Google-related such as Gmail, Calendar, Chrome browser, Google Docs, and various other web apps including social networking apps and IMs that are available for Chrome OS. You can use them in a web-browser like tabbed interface, guaranteeing you easy access to every feature you need.

128GB USB Flash Drives, Even More!

Storage technology is developing rapidly, and bigger capacities are now compacted in smaller form factor. This is an ultimate advantage for those of you who need to travel with a large number of data but don’t feel comfortable carrying bulky portable hard drives with you. Even when portable hard drives are getting smaller, they are still too much to handle for some people. You are still facing the risk of losing or damaging your data with portable hard drive due to the fact that hard drives use moving parts in their data storing mechanism. What could be better than carrying a regular USB flash drive capable of storing 128GB of data with you at all times, right?

You can now get what you want, because flash drives are being manufactured with substantially larger capacities as we speak. Kingston is the first one to officially release their latest Data Traveler 200 with 32GB, 64GB, and whopping 128GB storage capacities. The size of these supersized flash drives? No bigger than the one you are using now, probably with only 4GB or 8GB capacity. This means Kingston has managed to increase the storage capacity by 16 times without extending the form factor of these USB flash drives at all.

Corsair Flash Voyager GT Flash Drive will also come with 128GB storage capacity. Several other manufacturers are planning to release their gigantically-capable USB flash drives soon. The price may still be a bit premium at this time, but it will surely go down to an affordable level anytime soon.

Kindle’s New Competition

EBook readers look more attractive these days because more publishers are releasing books, magazines, newspapers, and other publications in supported digital format. For several years, Amazon’s Kindle and Sony’s Reader has been market’s favorites, but the recent pre-order of Nook — a new eBook reader from Barns & Noble — has proven that a new contender is entering the market; frankly speaking, the new contender looks promising.

The news of Barns & Noble running out of stock after opening pre-order session for their new Nook brings as back to when Amazon released Kindle. Apparently, Barns & Noble just weren’t anticipating so many sales in such a short time. Seeing the product’s specifications, Nook definitely deserves the attention. This new eBook reader implements two screen, one main e-Ink screen with 16-color support and the other is a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen. Each screen functions differently; the smaller touchscreen is designed to be a control interface for selecting books to read with a nice interface while the big screen displays the content as paper-like as you can imagine.

Nook also has built-in 3G support and Wi-Fi for connectivity. You can easily purchase books and other publications online and download it to your Nook’s 2GB internal storage. There is also a Micro SD slot for storage expansion to up to 16GB. Although Nook don’t have text-to-speech feature, its MP3 player can surely keep you entertained while you are reading; no need to carry both portable media player and an eBook reader, because Nook can do it all.
